John J. Capuano passed away late Saturday, January 10, 2026.

He enjoyed a full life marked by hard work, warm spirit, and a generous measure of happiness. A successful entrepreneur and owner of The John N. Fehlinger & Co., John was widely respected for his dedication and work ethic — his wise, candid voice will continue to guide us.

John’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geri; his children, Susan Torrisi and John R. Capuano; his son‑in‑law Steve, daughter‑in‑law Ginger; and his cherished grandchildren, Carson Torrisi, Sienna and Chloe Capuano. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private burial service has been held. A memorial service will be held 12:15 pm Sunday, February 1, 2026 at St. James Episcopal Church, 581 Valley Road, Upper Montclair, NJ 07042. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106 New York, NY 10087-7106 in John’s memory.
